    Mission Statement

Windstream Procurement makes a commitment to create a supplier base that reflects the faces of the communities we serve by enabling minority, veteran and women-owned businesses.

What is the Supplier Diversity Program?

Our Supplier Diversity Program is an initiative seeking to promote the development of small, minority, veteran, service disabled veteran, HUBZone, 8(a) and women-owned businesses, with the goal of empowering these organizations to be better able to compete with other established companies for supplier relationship opportunities with Windstream. We seek to accomplish this by:

    • Identifying areas where there is little or no minority, veteran, service-disabled veteran or women-owned business participation within our current supply base, and encouraging bidding in these areas from diverse suppliers.
    • Participating in business opportunity fairs, with the goal of identifying quality minority, veteran, service-disabled veteran and women-owned businesses to establish new supplier relationships.
    • Having a level of community involvement supporting other initiatives to promote women-owned and minority businesses.

What qualifies a business as a minority, women, veteran, service-disabled veteran or disadvantaged small business?

Windstream considers a business to qualify as minority or women-owned if it is at least 51% owned by one or more women or minority groups. Any supplier selected to compete for a contract will be required to submit appropriate MWBE certification/verification. Windstream recognizes a number of agencies for MWBE certification.

Does Windstream offer special terms or arrangements to small businesses or minority, veteran, service-disabled or women-owned businesses?

Windstream promotes fair purchasing practices and equitable arrangements for all suppliers. Diverse businesses interested in serving Windstream will be considered via our standard supplier selection process. Diverse businesses which are evaluated as equal or greater than other suppliers in all evaluation criteria such as price, quality and service, and which are certified as a diverse vendor, will be given priority in the selection process.

How can businesses participate in the Windstream Supplier Diversity Initiative?

Before we can evaluate any company as a potential supplier, we must first gather some information about the types of products and services provided.

To be evaluated, please complete our short form in its entirety, ensuring that you clearly describe your qualification as a diverse vendor, so that we can appropriately identify your business. Your information will be forwarded to our sourcing team for analysis and you will be contacted if an appropriate opportunity for future business should arise. There will be no further need on your part to contact Windstream, unless directed to do so by a member of our sourcing staff.

Windstream reserves the right to select and negotiate with those suppliers it deems qualified for competitive bidding and to terminate negotiations without incurring any liability. Windstream reserves the right to reject any or all proposals received.
