I have to admit and I think I speak for millions when I say that the Internet has totally changed my life. I was thinking last night; the way I do things today is completely different than how I did them 10 years ago. Granted, I was a lot younger and didn’t have the responsibilities I do today, so the things I do online are different. But none the less, the Internet has made a huge impact on life as I know it. ShoppingIt seems like there are never enough hours in the day to get everything accomplished. Do you ever feel that way? For instance, last night I realized my dad’s birthday is next week, and I don’t have a gift for him. And honestly, I don’t know when I am going to have time to go shopping. So, what did I do? I grabbed my tablet, went to Amazon and started shopping. Within 10 minutes, I had his present purchased and on its way to my house. Now, I have one more thing marked off my list (yes, I LOVE making lists and marking things off - I find it very therapeutic) and can focus on how I’m going to bake his birthday cake?!? Social NetworkingI don’t know how I would keep up with some of my friends if it weren’t for Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. Without these I would miss seeing pictures and videos of my friends’ kids, family vacations, and just funny things that happen to them. I often joke that Facebook is the glue that keeps us all together, but it seriously is! Last week, I was looking on Facebook and saw that my best friend from grade school received an award at work. I was so proud of her and I never would have known about her accomplishment without social media. I haven’t talked to her in years, but it means so much that I am able to keep up with her life through this little thing called the Internet. ResearchThis is a tricky one. Sometimes the Internet is your friend when you research and sometimes it is your enemy. I have learned there are things not to research…mainly medical problems. It never fails I read something online that gives me the worst possible case scenario and automatically think I am dying. When in reality it is usually just a minor bruise or bite. I do, however, love researching and reading restaurant reviews, places to vacation, and my latest - how to get stains out of a white shirt…hello ketchup!Jump OnlineWindstream offers great High-Speed Internet packages in a variety of speeds.
