We believe that diverse and small businesses contribute capabilities to Windstream that make us a leader in the telecommunications industry.

Windstream Procurement makes a commitment to create a supplier base that reflects the faces of the communities we serve by enabling small and disadvantaged businesses, and those owned by minorities, women, disabled individuals, veterans and members of the LGBTQ+ community (“Small and Diverse Businesses”).
What is the Supplier Diversity Program?
Our Supplier Diversity Program is an initiative seeking to promote the development of Small and Diverse Businesses, with the goal of empowering these organizations to be better able to compete with other established companies for supplier relationship opportunities with Windstream. We seek to accomplish this by:
- Identifying areas where there is little or no Small or Diverse Business participation within our current supply base, and encouraging bidding in these areas from diverse suppliers.
- Participating in business opportunity fairs, with the goal of identifying quality Small and Diverse Businesses to establish new supplier relationships.
- Having a level of community involvement supporting other initiatives to promote these businesses.
What qualifies a business as a diverse business?
Windstream considers a business to qualify as diverse if it is compliant with the primary agency governing the program. Any supplier selected to compete for a contract will be required to submit appropriate certification/verification. Windstream recognizes a number of agencies for certification.
Does Windstream offer special terms or arrangements to Small and Diverse Businesses?
Windstream promotes fair purchasing practices and equitable arrangements for all suppliers. Small and Diverse businesses interested in serving Windstream will be considered via our standard supplier selection process. Small and Diverse businesses which are evaluated as equal or greater than other suppliers in all evaluation criteria such as price, quality and service, and which are certified as a diverse vendor, will be given priority in the selection process.
