Hurricane Michael is currently classified as a Category 4 hurricane with wind gusts up to 160 mph in parts of the Florida Panhandle.
More than 375,000 people have been told to evacuate parts of the Florida Panhandle and Gulf Coast, as Hurricane Michael aims to make landfall this afternoon. A Category 4 or stronger hurricane has never made landfall in the Florida Panhandle, and Michael is forecasted to be a large, catastrophic and dangerous hurricane, with life-threatening storm surges, damaging winds and flash flooding.

While more than one million power outages are predicted to occur near the coast and inland after landfall, be assured that we are executing a disciplined procedure designed to keep customers’ services running.
