Nominate Your Favorite Teacher
From July 15 through August 31, the Kinetic by Windstream retail locations will participate in a special “Nominate Your Favorite Teacher” contest. The contest is open to teachers in primary and secondary schools. Nominations must be made in person at any Kinetic by Windstream store before the end of August. The teacher with the most nominations in each community will receive their choice of up to $300 worth of prizes for their classroom. Prizes include school supplies, new technology (tablet, laptop, TV or projector), art materials (paper, paint, brushes, etc.), and event education books and materials. You can only submit one nomination and your nomination must be a teacher from a K-12 public or private school. Each nomination must include the name of the teacher and the school, the name of the nominator and an optional comment section where additional information about the teacher may be provided.
According to a recent survey by the National Center for Education Statistics, 94 percent of teachers spend their own money to stock their classrooms with necessary supplies and resources. On average, a teacher will shell out about $479, although 7 percent spend more than $1,000, according to the survey. Kinetic’s “Nominate Your Favorite Teacher” contest will give those teachers a little help this upcoming school year.
In September, each Kinetic by Windstream store will announce one winning teacher based on nomination count. Kinetic by Windstream will make the purchase of the chosen school supplies and present it to the winner.
