Windstream Gives Back on #GivingTuesday

In today’s technology-driven world, we are always looking to ensure future generations have the tools necessary to compete in the workforce. That’s why on #GivingTuesday, we donated $1,000 and 10 laptops to the Boys and Girls Club of LeFlore County in Poteau, Okla.
“We are so grateful for Windstream and their donation that will help us serve over 400 local Boys and Girls Club children,” said Arielle Perry, CEO of the Boys and Girls Club of LeFlore County. “We hope that other businesses will follow suit and give a donation to organizations that are doing positive things in our community.”
According to its website, #GivingTuesday is a global day of giving fueled by the power of social media and collaboration. Celebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving, and succeeding the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday, #GivingTuesday kicks off the charitable season, when many focus on their holiday and end-of-year giving.
Members of the Boys and Girls Club of LeFlore County board of directors and Poteau Chamber of Commerce were in attendance during the presentation and spoke to the importance of #GivingTuesday and donations such as these.
