Kinetic by Windstream expands 1-Gigabit Fiber Internet to over 7,000 locations in Albemarle

ALBEMARLE, N.C. – Windstream, a leading provider in advanced network communications and technology solutions, announced today the completion of a major network expansion in Albemarle. Starting this week, over 7,000 consumer and business customers are now eligible to receive ultra-fast 1-gig internet service. The network upgrade comes after an investment by Windstream of $1 million throughout downtown Albemarle and surrounding areas of the city.
“With the expansion of 1-gig services throughout Albemarle, we are investing in the gigabit economy surging across the east coast helping to transition local businesses into global ecommerce powerhouses. Investing in rural and suburban areas allows those communities to create new opportunities for citizens to live and work close to home versus commuting to the big city,” said Stacy Hale, president of operations for Windstream in North Carolina. “Gig connections are going to change the landscape for Albemarle residents by delivering blazing fast speeds able to handle today’s growing connected device ecosystem while meeting the need for more bandwidth.”
One Gig Kinetic Business Internet enables businesses to leverage new tools providing access to cloud, voice, security and continuity solutions that will increasingly become standard equipment in most businesses. And with One Gig Kinetic Internet for your home, you can stream on-demand video to multiple devices, download your favorite play list from Apple Music, and upload spring break photos on Facebook all at once.
