Release date: Sept.6, 2019
EPHRATA, Pa. — Windstream, a leading provider of advanced network
Communications, announced today the grand opening of its new Kinetic Retail store and Kinetic Business Center at 130 E. Main St. in Ephrata, Pa. Kinetic is also giving a community donation to a human development center aimed at highlighting Windstream’s stake in Ephrata.
“The reopening of the Ephrata retail store stands as a symbol that we’re here to stay with next-generation Kinetic Internet speeds and products,” said Brian Harman, president of operations for Windstream in Pennsylvania. “By delivering a redesigned store with more interactivity while making a donation to a local charity that means so much to our community, we hope to demonstrate to the Ephrata community our investments toward the future of consumer and business broadband.”
The newly designed Kinetic by Windstream store features a contemporary new look and interactive nooks displaying community information, entertainment, and broadband solutions. Business customers are invited to our business center to learn more about unified communication products and business-level broadband solutions. Guests may stop by from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 6 for food and drinks, special deals and prizes.
The celebration will begin at 10 a.m. when the Northern Lancaster Chamber of Commerce will join Windstream for a ribbon cutting. From 11 to 11:30 a.m., the company will present EARS, Inc., the Ephrata Area Rehab Services, with a check for $1,000. From 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., retail store staff, small business representatives and local leadership will give away prizes.
“For 50 years, EARS Inc. has supported adults with disabilities in innovative, person centered programs. We are currently supporting 215 individuals with Intellectual/Emotional Disabilities, Autism and 90 Senior Citizens. Our emphasis remains on person centered programming. With new federal and state laws, our organization must provide additional Community Participation Services. These new services provide individuals with inclusive opportunities in the community but also require additional transportation services to provide these opportunities,” said Karen Hummel, EARS operations director. “Through the Kinetic by Windstream’s donation, we are one step closer in meeting the new mandates and supporting adults with disabilities outside of our facility, in their very own communities. EARS, Inc., will be investing this donation into the purchase of a new EARS mini-van.”
The opening at 130 E. Main St. marks Windstream’s renewed Kinetic commitment to Ephrata, and the company’s donation celebrates the partnerships that make communities interconnected. EARS, Inc., helps about 250 residents with intellectual disabilities gain independence and employment.
Windstream has implemented new broadband technology in Ephrata and is proud to bring new Kinetic Internet with speeds up to 200 megabits per second to homes and businesses. These upgrades where the result of local employees’ hard work and dedication to our Pennsylvania customers.
