Windstream Delivers Faster Kinetic Internet Speeds to 1.3 Million Locations in 2019

The buildout represents a total investment of roughly $400 million, and new customers have noticed. Windstream has grown its Kinetic Internet consumer subscriber base for two consecutive years, with a net addition of more than 28,000 customers in 2019 alone.
“Windstream carried its high-speed Kinetic Internet to more homes and businesses in 2019, empowering our rural communities with greater access to the digital economy and enhanced entertainment such as 4K streaming across multiple screens at home,” said Jeff Small, president of the company’s consumer and small and midsize business segment.
In addition to the fiber expansion, Windstream’s 2019 investments included fixed wireless, cable internet and other network equipment enhancements delivering speeds from 25-300 megabits per second (Mbps), with most upgraded locations qualifying for 100 Mbps or higher.
Windstream recently launched its next-generation Kinetic Secure and managed WiFi product for advanced network security and protection. These services are delivered across our Kinetic Internet services to provide the best experience for our customers.
Windstream is committed to expanding the availability of higher speeds across its footprint and will continue these efforts into 2020.
The Kinetic suite of services includes high-speed Internet, entertainment, phone and security products for homes and businesses in 18 states.
