Windstream celebrates grand opening of Kannapolis retail store, donates $1,000 Kannapolis Youth Basketball League

Communications, announced today the grand opening of its new Kinetic Retail store at 280 South Main St. in Kannapolis. Kinetic is also making a donation to a youth basketball league aimed at highlighting Windstream’s stake in Kannapolis.

“The reopening of the Kannapolis retail store stands as a symbol that we’re here to stay with next-generation Kinetic Internet speeds and products,” said Stacy Hale, president of operations for Windstream in North Carolina. “By delivering a redesigned store with more interactivity while making a donation to a local charity that means so much to our community, we hope to demonstrate to the citizens of Kannapolis our investments toward the future of consumer and business broadband.”

The Kinetic by Windstream store features a contemporary new look and interactive nooks displaying community information, entertainment, and broadband solutions.

At today’s celebration, the Kannapolis Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon-cutting; Windstream presented the Kannapolis Youth Basketball League with a check for $1,000, and retail store staff, small business representatives and local leaders gave away prizes.

“We would like to thank Kinetic by Windstream for their donation to our youth basketball program,” said Mayor Darrell Hinnant. “With this donation, we will be able to give more children the opportunity to play this year.  The youth basketball program will not only give children instructions on playing basketball but teach them the importance of being on a team, having a healthy lifestyle, exercising and more.  We appreciate Windstream for their generosity and partnership in helping our children be the best they can be.”

The opening at 280 South Main St. marks Windstream’s renewed Kinetic commitment to Kannapolis, and the company’s donation celebrates the partnerships that make communities interconnected.
