Kinetic Announces Community Grant for Westmoreland County Humane Society

GREENSBURG, Penn. — Kinetic announced a $2,500 grant to the Humane Society of Westmoreland County. The nonprofit was nominated by County Commissioner Gina Cerilli for the award.

"The Humane Society of Westmoreland County strives to provide shelter and rescue for abused and stray animals as well as offer essential low-cost veterinary care to the community.  This grant will help us keep our technological resources up to date to continue our mission of rescue and adoption, said Aly Brown and Ashley Shoup, HSWC co-directors. “HSWC thanks Kinetic by Windstream for their consideration and also County Commissioner Gina Cerilli Thrasher for her nomination of our organization.”

Kinetic is engaged in a multi-year, $2 billion initiative to bring fiber internet to the communities it serves. This investment gives residents and businesses in the area access to fast, reliable fiber to navigate the internet safely from home with no lag times while they work, school or stream entertainment services.

“Kinetic employees live, shop, go to school and church in the communities where we are deploying fiber,” said Jeanne Shearer, vice president of state government affairs in Pennsylvania for Kinetic. “This grant is one more way to give a little back to the neighbors who are making the communities where we work the kind of places where we love living.”

The Humane Society of Westmoreland County is a non-profit animal shelter.  HSWC has implemented programs supporting the rescue and adoption of homeless, stray, abused and neglected animals as well as community programs offering affordable veterinary care and surgical procedures.
