Kinetic by Windstream Launches GIG Speeds in Dahlonega

This morning at 10 a.m. the Kinetic by Windstream team held a ribbon cutting at the retail store to celebrate the launch. State Senator Steve Gooch (Dist. 51) and Dahlonega Mayor Sam Norton joined Kinetic President of Operations J Berkshire for the honors.
Gig-speed service has been highly anticipated by residents of Dahlonega. “Fast, reliable fast internet is critical to stay connected to what’s important,” said Berkshire. “In a year with more families working remotely, attending school virtually and depending on video calls to keep connected with loved ones, we are pleased to make sure residents of Dawsonville have what they need delivered to their door.”
Gig speed allows customers to stream favorite TV shows on Kinetic TV or YouTube TV instantly. Customers can use multiple devices at the same time without a lag in speed or losing connection. The upgrades mean Kinetic meets the demand for seamless voice, video, gaming and ultra-high definition TV service.
“The City of Dahlonega recognizes the important role that broadband access and speed play for our residents and our business owners,” said Sam Norton, Mayor of Dahlonega. “With Windstream’s investment in our community, virtually all city residents will now have access to Gig services through Kinetic by Windstream. Providing our more than 8,000 residents with a faster and more reliable internet opens the door for improved educational opportunities, local business advancements, and healthcare innovation. Ensuring access to high speed internet in rural areas isn’t just good for that community, it’s good for Georgia, and we applaud Windstream’s continued efforts to enhance and expand their coverage options.”
Sen. Gooch added, “Access to internet service is paramount to a growing community for economic development and educational excellence.  As the State Senator of District 51, I have spent the past 4 years working to help expand rural broadband throughout Georgia.  I applaud J. Berkshire and the entire Windstream organization for their steady progress in upgrading their infrastructure.  The investment they are making is going to have a significant impact on our region for decades to come.”
