Kinetic by Windstream Launches GIG Speeds in Georgia

This week the Kinetic by Windstream team held ribbon cutting ceremonies located in Clarkesville, Demorest, Mt. Airy and Cornelia to celebrate the launch. Local dignitaries joined Kinetic President of Operations J Berkshire for the honors, including Commissioner Lauren “Bubba” McDonald, Clarkesville Mayor Barrie Aycock, Clarkesville City Manager Keith Dickerson, State Representative Chris Erwin, Cornelia Mayor John Borrow, Cornelia City Manager Donald (Dee) Anderson, and Economic Developer Charlie Fiveash.
Gig-speed service has been highly anticipated by residents in Northeast Georgia. “Fast, reliable fast internet is critical to stay connected to what’s important,” said Berkshire. “In a year with more families working remotely, attending school virtually and depending on video calls to keep connected with loved ones, we are pleased to make sure residents in Northeast Georgia have what they need delivered to their door.”
Gig speed allows customers to stream favorite TV shows on Kinetic TV or YouTube TV instantly. Customers can use multiple devices at the same time without a lag in speed or losing connection. The upgrades mean Kinetic meets the demand for seamless voice, video, gaming and ultra-high definition TV service.
“I’m extremely impressed and appreciative of Kinetic by Windstream’s investment and participation in helping to provide high speed broadband to all of Georgia, especially our rural areas,” said State Representative Terry Rogers. “As I’ve traveled across the state as a member of the House Rural Development Committee, it’s become very obvious that reliable internet is not just a luxury, but a necessity in keeping our state moving forward. It impacts every part of our lives including the economy, education, and healthcare, and by their participation, Windstream is taking a large step in helping us find the solutions we need. I’m grateful for that.”
Clarkesville Mayor Barrie Aycock echoed the sentiment, “We are delighted to announce Kinetic by Windstream’s upgraded service in Clarkesville and Northeast Georgia. This commitment to meet the growing appetite for broadband capacity comes at a crucial time to serve our community’s ever-increasing need to connect. Windstream’s steadfast partnership is greatly valued by our city and its residents.”
Cornelia Mayor also agreed, “As Mayor of Cornelia, as a small business owner, and as a resident of Cornelia, I am thrilled to have Kinetic by Windstream provide speeds of up to 1 Gig for our residents and businesses. We are excited about their investment in new infrastructure to help deliver fast, reliable internet to our city. In these times, having access to high-speed internet is no longer a luxury - it is a necessity - and, in my experience, Kinetic delivers. We are also grateful that Windstream's Georgia headquarters is located in Cornelia, helping to provide jobs to those in our area.”
