Windstream names Stephanie Bell vice president of government affairs in Kentucky
LEXINGTON, Ky. — Windstream, a leading provider of advanced network communications and technology solutions, today announced that it has named Stephanie Bell to serve as its vice president for government affairs in Kentucky.
Bell joins Windstream having served for a decade as a deputy executive director for external affairs for the Kentucky Public Service Commission where she formulated and coordinated the legislative agenda of the commission and represented the body before the General Assembly and Governor’s Office, as well as municipal governments and community forums. More recently, she founded Bell Consulting, a business development and government planning consultancy focused on regulatory affairs around electric, gas, water and telecom policy.
Bell will be based in Lexington and report to Phillip McAbee, president of operations for Windstream in Kentucky.
“Stephanie has a deep understanding of Kentucky and the public policy issues confronting the commonwealth, including the importance of world-class Internet access to our economy,” McAbee said. “She is committed to building strong, productive relationships with state and local leaders that help foster economic growth, and she will be a tireless advocate for policies that support broadband deployment in even the most rural areas of Kentucky.”

Bell received her bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of Kentucky and since then, she’s completed Leadership Bluegrass and, later, Leadership Kentucky.
