Windstream announces 2019 partnership with the YMCA of Central Kentucky

Windstream presented the nonprofit with a donation in the amount of $35,000. Funds will directly support the YMCA’s annual giving campaign, back-to-school rallies, Black Achievers Program, Celebration & Awards Ceremony, Power Scholars Academy, and technology and safety programming for all Y members.
The check presentation took place at the YMCA of Central Kentucky, where Tim Williamson, director of field operations for Windstream, Wayne Boyd, director of field operations for Windstream, and David Martorano, president and CEO of the YMCA of Central Kentucky, addressed the public, members of the YMCA and other local dignitaries.
“For nearly two centuries, the YMCA has been dedicated to helping children reach their full potential,” said Phillip McAbee, president of Kentucky operations for Windstream. “Through programs like the Power Scholars Academy and the Black Achievers Program, the YMCA of Central Kentucky is ensuring that the youth in our communities are properly equipped for what may come after graduation. At Windstream, we fully support the initiatives of the YMCA of Central Kentucky and look forward to another year as this partnership continues.”
Through partners such as Windstream, the YMCA of Central Kentucky dedicates more than $1 million to the community annually in the form of financial assistance for children and families who could not otherwise afford to participate in YMCA programs.
