Windstream expands Kinetic Gig services to York

Network enhances network infrastructure with Kinetic Gig services
YORK, Neb. -- Windstream (Nasdaq: WIN), a leading provider of advanced network communications and technology solutions, will be expanding Kinetic Gig service into York, Nebraska.
Currently, Windstream proudly serves the areas of Hastings and Lincoln in the Nebraska market. Expansion of the network will provide service to more than 3,600 homes in York, making this service available to more than 71 percent of the city’s total population.
One-Gig Internet means that users will be able to download 1,000,000,000 bits per second or 1,000 megabits per second. That’s 100 times faster than the average Internet speed in the United States. One-Gig speeds run on a fiber-optic line, which is capable of much higher speeds than the traditional copper lines of most DSL and cable connections.
“This expansion will deliver service to more customers, giving them access to entertainment on multiple devices without interruption,” says, Phillip McAbee area president of state operations. “Kinetic by Windstream is a true representation of a better, faster, stronger connection between our company and the communities we serve, and we are excited to expand that connection throughout the state of Nebraska.”
