Customizing Your Dish Network Channel Guide
What the channel guide shows.
Once you hit the Guide button on your remote, the default Guide will appear which may say “My Channels.” This indicates all the channels you have in the package you subscribe to. If you subscribe to HD channels, you can view only these by selecting the down arrow next to My Channels and select “My HD Channels.”
Create your personal guide.
You can change what channels you see which are in your Dish Network package by customizing the menu. This will allow you to create a channel guide of just favorite channels for you or your family members. This created guide can be changed anytime. To do this, Hit the Guide button your Dish Network remote repeatedly until the option “Edit Lists” is highlighted in the drop down menu on the program guide screen and hit Select. This will display the lists which you are able to edit.
Note: the lists which can be edited are by default called List 1, List 2, etc. You are able to rename the lists what you would like up to 8 characters. Simply select “Rename the List” on the pop-up menu follow the on-screen prompts to change the name.
Choose the Channels in your guide.
Once you have chosen a list to edit by choosing “Edit Channels,” a grid showing the all the channels in the package you subscribe will be listed. Using the arrows on your remote, navigate to the channel which you would like to add to your personal channel guide, hit the Select button on your remote.
After you have selected all the channels you would like to add, navigate again using your arrow keys on your remote, to the Save option and hit Select on your remote. Now that you have created a list of your own, navigate to the Close button on your screen and select it. Your new list will then be available in the Guide’s drop down menu and is ready for use.
Pretty cool, right? Creating a channel guide is a great way to make sure your kids are watching parent approved shows.
