Kinetic Secure Home Devices
The Kinetic Hub is the brain of your Kinetic Secure Home system, and it is required for use of our larger Kinetic Secure Home package. The Kinetic Hub pairs and communicates with all your sensors as well as your Kinetic Wi-Fi network in order to notify you of important events.
What do I need in order to install the Kinetic hub?
The Kinetic Hub requires a router, internet connection, and power outlet. When you purchase a Kinetic Hub, a power adapter and ethernet cable are included in the box. The Hub connects to your router via the provided ethernet cable.
Does the Kinetic Hub have Wi-Fi?
Not at this time. You must connect wirelessly to your Kinetic Internet W-Fi network.
Does the Kinetic Hub include a SIM card? Is it possible to use my own SIM card?
Each Kinetic Hub comes with a pre-installed SIM card, and the SIM card is activated and utilized in case of a power or internet outage. The Kinetic Hub is not compatible with other SIM cards.
Does the Kinetic Hub contain a backup battery?
Yes! Each Kinetic Hub comes with an 8-hour rechargeable lithium ion backup battery.
Is the Kinetic Hub smash-proof?
The Kinetic Hub is not smash-proof but having a smash-proof Hub is not necessary. As soon as one of your sensors is triggered, the Hub automatically sends a signal to the Kinetic servers. Even if the Hub is smashed or broken, this does not prevent notifications from sending or police dispatch.
Kinetic Entry Sensors monitor the opening and closing of your doors and windows. You can also use them to monitor cabinets, safes, or anything that opens and closes.
Where should I place an Entry Sensor?
We recommend placing Entry Sensors on all the main entry points in your home, and any windows that are not monitored with motion sensors.
What is the operating temperature range of the Entry Sensor?
The Entry Sensor has an operating temperature range of 32 degrees to 122 degrees Fahrenheit.
What battery does the Entry Sensor use?
The Entry Sensor uses one CR2450 battery.
Motion Sensors detect any kind of movement in your home. We recommend placing Motion Sensors in rooms with rows of windows or valuable items, and in high traffic areas such as staircases or hallways.
What kind of sensor is the Motion Sensor?
The Kinetic Secure Home Motion Sensors are passive infrared sensors.
Is the Motion Sensor pet-friendly?
Yes, the Motion Sensor is pet-friendly for pets up to 85 lbs.
What is the range of the Motion Sensor?
The Motion Sensor has a 50-foot range, depending on obstructions. The field of view is 90 degrees.
What is the operating temperature range of the Motion Sensor?
The Motion Sensor has an operating temperature range of 32 degrees to 122 degrees Fahrenheit.
What battery does the Motion Sensor use?
The Motion Sensor uses two CR123A batteries.

What is the range between the sensors and the Kinetic Hub?
The Kinetic Hub and sensors have an official range of approximately 150 feet.
Batteries
What type of batteries does this system use?
Motion Sensors and Keypads require two CR123A batteries and Open/Close Sensors require one CR2450 battery. The Hub is powered through a wall outlet charger, but it also has a backup, rechargeable lithium ion battery. The Siren/Zigbee Repeater and the Indoor HD Camera are also powered through a wall outlet charger.
How long will the batteries last?
All the Kinetic Secure Home sensors have an average battery life of 3 years. Sensor battery life is affected by various factors such as installation time, daily usage, and Hub connectivity. If you experience a power outage, the Kinetic Hub's backup battery will last up to 8 hours.
How easily can I access the batteries in the devices?
Sensor batteries are very easy to access. Every device has a removable faceplate with a finger pick slot.
Will the Kinetic Secure Home system alert me when the batteries need to be replaced?
Yes. Low battery notifications are sent via email. In the Kinetic Secure Home mobile apps and web dashboard, you’ll also see low battery warnings next to the sensor that needs new batteries.
The Camera monitors for motion and sound alerts in and outside your home and allows you to watch a live stream and recorded video events.

Is the Camera wireless?
The camera communicates wirelessly with your home network, but it does require a wired power connection. Each Kinetic Camera comes with a 10ft long power cord.
Where should I place my Camera?
You can install your Camera anywhere in or outside your home, depending on what types of activity you want to view. We recommend placing your Camera in a high traffic area of your home; that way, if an intruder enters, you can catch them on camera.
Can the Camera be placed outside?
Yes, your Kinetic Secure camera can be used outside, as long as your Wi-Fi connection is in reach.
How does my Camera connect to the Kinetic Hub?
The Camera connects via your Kinetic Wi-Fi network to our servers and your Kinetic Hub.
Can my camera connect via 4G?
Not at this time, but we are looking into cellular backup options for cameras.

The Kinetic Video Doorbell is a WiFi-enabled doorbell that monitors for motion and sound alerts at your door. It allows you to watch a live stream, record video events, and communicate with visitors.

Is the Doorbell wireless?
No, the doorbell is wired into your existing doorbell wiring and has a power requirement of 16V 10va. The doorbell also requires a WiFi connection to connect to our servers.
What is the difference between the Kinetic Camera and a Kinetic Video Doorbell?
The Kinetic Camera connects to a standard power outlet and can be placed anywhere inside or outside your home. The Kinetic Video Doorbell connects to your home’s existing doorbell wiring and should be placed next to an exterior door of your home. The Kinetic Video Doorbell also has a ring button on the front which triggers alert and recording. However, both the Kinetic Camera and Kinetic Video Doorbell will automatically detect motion and people.
Where should I place my Doorbell?
We recommend you install your Kinetic Doorbell by your front door, depending on what types of activity you want to view. By placing the doorbell in a high traffic area of the exterior of your home, you can be alert of all comings and goings.
What is the doorbell’s operating temperature?
The doorbell has an operating temperature range of -4 degrees to 122 degrees Fahrenheit (-20 degrees to 50 degrees Celsius).
Can the Doorbell be placed inside?
The doorbell can be placed inside, but would need appropriate doorbell wiring or a USB cable (not included) to be powered.
