What happens if I move?
Packing Up
Remove your sensors.
To remove your sensors, we recommend slowly twisting and pulling the device, rather than trying to pull it off all at once. To reduce potential damage to your furniture or drywall, you can use a hair dryer to heat the adhesive and reduce its tact. You can also use a drywall knife to access the narrow space between the sensor and your door/wall/window.
Pull off the sensors’ adhesive, or cover it with paper to make sure sensors don’t stick to each other during travel.
Power Down your Devices
You’ll want to turn your hub and its back-up battery during travel.
To turn your hub off, please follow these steps:
- Remove power cord from hub
- Allow battery to drain for 8 hours
- Verify the lights have turned off on the hub
To turn off your sensors, remove their batteries. Be sure to store them in a packed container so they are not punctured or smashed during travel.
Re-Installation

- Tap the key icon in the bottom right hand corner
- Select Location Name
- Edit your information as needed

If you have changed cities or states, double check with the local authorities to see if they require a permit. Contact Kinetic Support with questions, or to add your new permit number to our central station database.

To reconnect sensors, insert batteries into your sensors.
