What are Kinetic Wi-Fi Mesh Extenders and how do they work?

Kinetic Wi-Fi Mesh Extenders are devices that can be paired with compatible Kinetic Gateways to create a mesh Wi-Fi network to expand coverage throughout the home. They help eliminate areas where Wi-Fi coverage drops or is weak, also known as “dead spots.”

How far can the extenders reach?

Adding Kinetic Mesh Extenders to your Kinetic Wi-Fi network will increase coverage by up to 1,000 sq ft per device.

How many Kinetic Wi-Fi Mesh Extenders do I need?

  • WEB7200 Extender:  Homes between 2,000 – 3,000 sq ft or 2 floors
  • WEB7200 Extenders: Homes between 3,000 – 4,000 sq ft or 3 floors
  • WEB7200 Extenders: Homes larger than 4,000 sq ft

Note: You should be conservative when determining the number of devices needed.  Installing more devices than necessary could impact the home Wi-Fi speeds.  Windstream does not recommend having more than three Extenders in a single home.

What is a Kinetic Wi-Fi Extender and how does it work?

Kinetic Wi-Fi Extender is a device that can be paired with the Actiontec Gateway to help eliminate areas where Wi-Fi coverage drops or is weak, which are also known as “dead spots”.  It provides extended, more consistent Wi-Fi coverage throughout the entire home.  The extender plugs into an electrical outlet and works as an extension of the Gateway’s network.  As devices join the Wi-Fi network and move around the home, they will stay seamlessly connected.
