How to set up my Windstream email in Outlook 2010
Follow the steps below to set up Windstream email in Outlook 2010.
- Click File.
- Click Add Account.
- Select Manually configure server settings or additional server types. Click Next.
- Select Internet E-mail.
- Add the following:
- Your Name: The preferred Name.
- E-mail Address: The windstream.net email address.
- Select Account Type: IMAP
- Incoming Mail Server: imap.windstream.net
- Outgoing Mail Server: smtp.windstream.net
- User Name: The full email address.
- Password: The password.
- Click More Settings.
- Click the Advanced tab.
- Specify the following:
- Check the box by: This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL)
- Verify that makes the Incoming Server Port number show 993.
- Select TLS on the dropdown by: Use the following type of encrypted connection.
- Verify that makes the Outgoing Server Port number show 587.
- Click the Outgoing Server tab
- Specify the following:
- Check the My outgoing server(SMTP) requires authentication checkbox.
- Make sure Use same settings as my incoming mail server is selected.
- Click OK.
- Click Next.
- Click Close when the Test Account Settings is completed.
- Click Finish.
Your Windstream email account is now setup in Outlook 2010 and you should be able to send and receive email.
